Specialty products

Specially designed transformers

Beyond standard distribution and power transformers, MHR Power engineers purpose-built units for demanding applications where off-the-shelf equipment falls short. Each specialty transformer is designed to exacting load, thermal, and electrical specifications — and manufactured to CSA, UL, DOE, and NRCan standards.

Furnace Transformers

  • Engineered for electric arc furnaces, induction heating, and resistance heating systems. Designed to handle extreme thermal cycling, high inrush currents, and continuous heavy-load operations found in steel mills, foundries, and metal processing plants.

Grounding (zig-zag) Transformers

  • Provides a neutral grounding point on ungrounded or delta-connected systems to limit ground-fault overvoltages and allow protective relaying to operate. Essential for industrial networks, utilities, and any system where ground fault protection is required

Autotransformers

  • Single-winding design for efficient voltage step-up or step-down where galvanic isolation is not required. Commonly used in motor starting, power transmission, and voltage correction applications where size and cost savings are priorities.
